The DELT center of Faculty of Agriculture bears the responsibility of conducting an Intensive English course each year when the new entrants are enrolled to the Faculty. The duration of the course is generally three weeks but it is decided by the faculty Board. The Intensive English course comprises Language structure, Reading and Writing, Listening and Oral skills. In the mean time, guest lectures on Agriculture are delivered so as to familiarize the students with the terminology of Agriculture subjects.
General English is taught to the undergraduates in first year semester 1 and 2, and second year semester 1 and 2. A Professional English syllabus has been designed for third year second semester students. A special booklet prepared afterthe curriculum revision is freely given to the students in all batches for studies.
Annual English Night or the Talents Night is conducted in a grand scale. Students are also prepared for the Inter-faculty speech competition, and Essay writing competition.
