As DELT provides ELT services to all six faculties, it uses the learning environments of all six faculties for the regular programs. Additionally, languages laboratories are available to facilitate the language teaching- learning process.
The main language laboratory is located at the Department (DELT) at Mihintale premises. It serves mainly the undergraduates of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, and the Faculty of Management Studies. It is equipped with computers with listening facilities, books, and language learning software, including ‘Study Skills Success (Clarity)’. Software and CDs are also available for accredited examinations such as IELTS and TOEFL. Steps are underway to provide the main language lab with internet facilities and facilities for practising the University Test of English Language (UTEL).
Additionally, mini language laboratories are available at Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences. They are also equipped with computers with listening facilities, books, and language learning software, but at a limited capacity.
