Indian Scholarship 1



Ms. S.N. Thakshila Udayangani (SSH/2020/471) and H.B. Gihanya Thathsarani (SSH/2020/460) who are following Hindi language at Department of Language for their B.A. Degree program of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka have been selected for one year full scholarship (with up and down air tickets, international hostel, food, stipend, book allowances and medical facilities). This scholarship is offered by the Indian government to learn Hindi at the premier institute of higher education in India ‘’KENDRIYA HINDI SANSTHAN’’, AGRA, INDIA in session 2022-23 under the government of India’s “Hindi promotion scheme in foreign countries”.

This is the second time that this scholarship has been awarded to students who are studying Hindi in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. This is worth to mention that both of students have started learning Hindi at Rajarata University for the first time of their lives and were able to get the scholarship in their first year at the university. The scholarship has been offered for 100 university students among 35 countries across the globe.

Indian Scholarship 2

Two students of the department of Languages (Gihanya Tathsarani and Takshila Udayangani) who won the full scholarship awarded by the Indian government to 100 university students from 35 countries of the world, are now studying Hindi in KHS, Agra, India. Gihanya and Thakshila are among the foreign
students who have performed in Hindi for the Annual Literature Competition of the college (KHS). One of the major Hindi newspapers in U.P (State of Uttar Pradesh) reports the news and claims that the knowledge of foreign students amazes even Indians.
