Mendis published the abstract on “Geochemical and Archaeological evidence in proto historic Iron age Sri Lanka” at RIRC 2019 (Rajarata International Research conference 2019-November) organized by the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Also he published the full paper of “New light to proto historic Iron Age excavation of cist burial site at Galgamuwa Andarawew” in October 2019 at the first Archaeological Museum of Sri Lanka Felicitation Volume Department of Archaeology Sri Lanka. The abstract on “Archaeological and geochemical analysis of a proto historic burial site at Galgamuwa in Andarawewa” was publish at the Annual Research Symposium of Colombo university in November 2019....

The Archaeology and Heritage Management Department, which offers special and general degrees in Archaeology and Heritage Management. The Department is situated among archaeological remains and monuments which are fully committed to enhancing the research and the practical application of Archaeological Heritage Management in Sri Lanka.

Department curricular is not traditional and predominantly dimed of producing trained graduates for existing job market and create new employment opportunities. It is evident that it has the potential of managing a wide range of archaeological and heritage activities including cultural tourism industry in the Sacred City and the vicinity of Anuradhapura.
